Cincinnati's Pirtle retires

Pirtle, whose career spanned a quarter century, had been behind the bench for the last 21 seasons in Cincinnati. In the last 11 seasons, Pirtle has guided her charges to 10 winning years, five 20-plus win campaigns and seven consecutive postseason appearances from 1997-2004.
The Columbus, Ohio native finishes her career with a 393-317 overall mark, which includes an 83-16 record at Capital University from 1983-86.
The search for Pirtle's successor will begin immediately.
